Moipone Malefane is an award-winning former journalist who has worked in different media houses for 18 years. These include Sowetan, Sunday Times, South African Press Association and The Star. She was a household name in the media, regarded as one of the best political journalists whose breaking stories set the news agenda on numerous occasions in South Africa. Her work has involved the prestige of interviewing top news makers including highest ranking politicians and effectively managing complex relationships with competing political role players while maintaining journalistic integrity. After her last full-time contribution to Sowetan as a political editor, she established her own consultancy providing stakeholder relations and media advisory services to clients including the National Education Collaboration Trust, CHIETA, Gauteng departments of human settlements and infrastructure development and Ntiyiso Consulting. Using her experience in media, she also provides services such as brand positioning in media, media communications advisory, writing and editing of commercial reports. She is a Fellow of the Sixth Class of the Africa Leadership Initiative.
